How does it work?

The product itself consists of a small wireless modem which responds to a signal from any one of a series of Base Stations installed in a particular city. The Base Stations are placed at strategic locations in the city to optimize the area covered by the wireless signal (i.e. coverage) and each Base Station includes a Gateway to the Internet. The coverage of each Base Station includes a radius of a few kilometers and data is sent and received through the air encoded using radio frequencies.  The signals are picked up by the KIKAO wireless modem.  It is this two-way wireless communication between the Base Station and the KIKAO wireless modem that enables the user to access the Internet.

The user can move anywhere he or she wants within the coverage area of the KIKAO network without loosing or affecting the connection. The KIKAO network is a secure wireless broadband network that enables the user to send and receive e-mail, surf the web, access news, play games, download music and video etc.
